Genesis GV90 Caught on Camera During Test Drive, Steals Attention with Rolls-Royce-Style Doors
JAKARTA - In the latest leak, a GV90 prototype caught on camera during testing in Europe appears to be wearing minimal camouflage. The design appears to be a direct reflection of Genesis' Neolun concept, with a triangular grille and split headlights. The side view reveals flush-mounted door handles positioned from front to rear, further enhancing the Rolls-Royce-like luxury feel.
This flagship SUV from Genesis, reported Carscoop, Tuesday, August 5, was revealed to have a very luxurious feature, namely "coach" doors or rear swing doors that swing in the opposite direction, similar to those found on luxury Rolls-Royce cars.
Despite its modest exterior, the GV90's interior is believed to be an oasis of luxury. Previous leaked photos show the second row equipped with captain's chairs separated by a large center console, complete with a wireless charger and integrated tablet. The cockpit is also expected to adopt a large, center-mounted display, similar to Tesla's setup, replacing the traditional instrument cluster.
Genesis has remained tight-lipped on the details of the GV90, but rumors suggest the electric SUV will be built on the new eM platform, an evolution of the existing E-GMP architecture. This suggests the GV90 will be more advanced than its siblings, the Kia EV9 and Hyundai Ioniq 9.
For comparison, Hyundai's similar model, the Ioniq 9, comes with a 110.3 kWh battery and a dual-motor all-wheel drive system that produces up to 422 hp. The GV90 is expected to boast even more superior specifications, cementing its position as a luxurious and powerful flagship SUV.
