The Ciliwung River Overflows, 16 RTs In East Jakarta Are Submerged By Floods

The DKI Jakarta Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) noted that 16 neighborhood units (RT) in East Jakarta were still flooded with water levels ranging from 30-80 cm due to the overflow of the Ciliwung River, on Tuesday morning.

"The rain that hit the DKI Jakarta area and its surroundings caused the increase in the Katulampa Dam to become vigilant on Monday (4/8)," said Head of the DKI Jakarta BPBD Data and Information Center (Kapusdatin) Mohamad Yohan, Tuesday, August 5, 2025.

According to him, the increase in status resulted in as many as 16 RTs in East Jakarta being flooded due to the overflow of the Ciliwung River.

Yohan emphasized that the DKI Jakarta BPBD mobilized personnel to monitor inundation conditions in each region and coordinate elements of the Natural Resources Service, Bina Marga Service, Gulkarmat Service to carry out inundation suction.

"In addition, we ensure that the water lines function properly and prepare basic needs for survivors. Inundation is targeted to recede in a short time," he said.
