Tyson Fury Confirms He Will Not Return To The Boxing Ring

JAKARTA Former WBO heavyweight world champion Tyson Fury insists he will never return to the boxing ring amid speculation over his possibility of a professional fight again.

The British fighter decided to retire just a month after suffering defeat in a two-time undisputed rematch against world champion Oleksandr Usyk, in December 2024.

Recently Fury had opened his voice regarding the possibility of undergoing a trilogy fight against Usyk. He said he only wanted to get into the ring again against his Ukrainian rival.

Even so, in his latest statement to the media, he emphasized that he would never come out of retirement again.

"(I'm already) too old, look at my beard, everything is gray. Boxing is a sport for young people," said the fighter nicknamed King OfTEN, confiscated from Sky Sport.

In addition to the trilogy against Usyk, Fury also continues to be associated with the big battle between England and Anthony Joshua. This clash has been predicted for a long time, but has never materialized.

Fury promoter Frank Warren believes that the third fight against Usyk will certainly motivate Fury more than the long-awaited fight Joshua has been waiting for.

"Whatever can happen in this business, maybe that fight can be done if Usyk wants to do it and Tyson wants to do it. I'm sure someone will be interested in holding that game," Warren said.

Fury had a record never lost when he got into the ring against Usyk in May 2024 to win the undisputed world champion status. He lost points in that game to lose the WBO belt.

The victory left Usyk the undisputed heavyweight world champion for the first time in the four-belt era and the first since Lennox Lewis did so in 1999.

After winning a rematch with Fury, Usyk returned to the ring in July 2025 to unification for the heavyweight title against Daniel Dubois. He won and made himself the undisputed world heavyweight champion twice.
