Indonesia Zero Victory In Leg 1 SEA V League 2025, Opportunities To AVC Nations Cup Small
JAKARTA The Indonesian Women's Volleyball National Team (Timnas) has never tasted a single win in the first three matches of the 2025 SEA V League which took place in Thailand.
Megawati Hanggetri Pertiwi and her friends closed their journey in the first leg with a defeat against the Philippines on Sunday, August 3, 2025.
In the last duel, Indonesia lost 1-3 (20-25, 20-25, 25-15, and 13-25). Previously, the Octavian coach's team lost 0-3 to Vietnam (11-25, 11-25, and 22-25) and 1-3 to host Thailand (25-22, 15-25, 25-27, and 12-15).
This result made Garuda Pertiwi's target to finish in second place in the final standings. The chances of qualifying for the AVC Nations Cup 2026 also shrank. Indonesia will then undergo the second leg in Vietnam on August 8-10, 2025.

"We remain optimistic. We will continue to work hard and public support is certainly very meaningful for the journey of this team," said team manager Luciana Taroreh, after the match against the Philippines.
Luciana said that the Philippines appeared more solid, while Indonesia still had weaknesses that needed to be fixed immediately, especially on defense, consistency, communication, and final settlement.
"Some of the main players have not yet recovered 100 percent from injury so they cannot perform optimally in each set," he said.
Swallowing three defeats in Thailand made Megawati and her friends have to settle for being caretakers in the final standings of the first leg. Apart from not winning, Indonesia also has zero points.
Indonesia is behind the Philippines in third place with three points, Vientam is in second place with seven points, and the host Thailand collects eight points at the top.
