Young Mother In Tulungagung Drowns Her Baby, Police Autopsy Results Reveal Shocking Facts
TULUNGAGUNG - Police revealed the results of an autopsy on the body of a baby found buried beside a resident's house in Sanggrahan Lor Village, Boyolangu District, Tulungagung Regency, East Java.
The Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Boyolangu Police, Aiptu Wahyudi, said that the autopsy showed that the baby died due to lack of oxygen or weakness.
"The autopsy process went smoothly. We also took a number of samples for DNA tests, such as blood and urine from the baby's mother, as well as the baby's left thigh bone," Wahyudi said when confirmed, Antara, Monday, August 4.
The autopsy was carried out at the Forensic Medical Installation (IKF) RSUD dr. Iskak Tulungagung on Saturday, August 2, 2025, involving a team from the East Java Regional Police.
The baby is known to weigh 2.8 kilograms and is 53 centimeters long. From the results of the examination, two possible causes were found on the neck.
"The wound on the neck could be caused by a strangulation, or it could also be due to a forced withdrawal during the delivery process. We are still investigating whether it was due to acts of violence or the process of giving birth that was not handled medically," said Wahyudi.
The police also investigated the confession of MA (23), the mother of the baby, who stated that she had drowned her baby's head in a bucket filled with water. However, the allegation is still waiting for the results of the acid destruction test from the East Java Regional Police Forensic Laboratory.
After the autopsy, the baby's body was immediately buried in a local public cemetery. Meanwhile, MA is still undergoing treatment at dr. Iskak Tulungagung for post-lahired recovery.
Previously, residents of Sanggrahan Lor Village were surprised by the discovery of the body of a baby buried shallowly next to the MA's house on Saturday night, August 2, 2025.
The Supreme Court claimed to give birth without medical assistance on July 29, 2025 and buried the baby a day later after finding the baby lifeless.

The police are still investigating to determine the exact cause of the baby's death and reveal the possibility of a criminal element in this case.
