Back To The Entertainment World, Sahrul Gunawan Talks About Idealism And Fate In Politics

JAKARTA - Actor and politician Sahrul Gunawan made a rather surprising confession regarding his journey in two different worlds.

According to him, his return to the world of entertainment is a necessity, because the two worlds are actually interrelated.

"So actually, how do you say comeback, because which are the priorities. After I entered politics, it turns out that I don't agree with the city divider, this is politics, this is an artist," said Sahrul Gunawan in the South Jakarta area, recently.

He openly acknowledged that his background as an artist was one of the factors that made him elected as a politician. He even often uses his abilities as an entertainer to get closer and help the community.

"Yes, I as a politician was also chosen because of the background as an artist. I also often entertain the community, yes, people with all the provlematics of life for tomorrow's rice is difficult or during natural disasters," he continued.

Specifically, Sahrul told how he often carried out trauma healing for disaster victims in Bandung Regency by singing and interacting directly. He realized that public acceptance would not be the same if he was not an artist.

"Bandung Regency is prone to natural disasters too, tornadoes, floods, earthquakes, so I often have trauma healing, I sing, come, there are photos, with me they are happy, I'm also happy, happy because if I'm not an artist they don't receive it like that either," explained Sahrul Gunawan.

Despite enjoying his role as a public official, Sahrul did not deny that there was an idealism that encouraged him to do more. This is what made him participate in the Pilkada contestation, even though fate said otherwise.

"Yes, happiness is different, on the one hand, I have the idealism that I also want to do something, so yesterday I participated in the election contest, because I wanted to make a breakthrough that I couldn't do, but qadarullah didn't have time yet, so for the next time I don't know, is it the executive, is it the legislature," he explained.

One term in office has taught him many lessons. He realized that being in the government gave him greater strength to help the community than through his personal foundation.

"What is clear is that this one period has made me quite adaptive, with that world. Because it is useful, I have a foundation with a 750 foundation, that's how I think I can't do more," he continued.

"But with the government with the government budget, we can distribute the budget for the good of the community, that's one point too, and now it's a real me as entertainment," concluded Sahrul Gunawan.
