JAKARTA - Kelapa Gading Police managed to arrest the perpetrators of the theft of jewelry necklaces that occurred at Diamond Jewelry, Artha Gading Mall, Ground Floor, Block A2, No 6, Jalan Boulevard Artha Gading Selatan, Kelapa Gading Barat Village, Coconut Gading District, North Jakarta.

The suspect is known to be a woman with the initials AM (49) from Pontianak, West Kalimantan.

Suspect AM was arrested at the Altiz Apartment, Jalan Bintaro Utara, Pondok Aren, South Tangerang, Banten on Friday, August 1, 2025.

The incident began when the victim with the initials EHR (20) was at the Diamond Jewelry shop serving customers who would sell and buy gold and diamonds.

At that time, the perpetrator looked around and seemed to be buying. The perpetrator then ordered the victim to take 3 items in the form of necklaces and rings. The perpetrator looked again and chose the goods.

"The perpetrator took a gold necklace with a diamondTAL, then the perpetrator did not buy it. When I tidied the necklace and ring, I saw it was true that the perpetrator took a gold necklace and a diamond stake with it wrapped in his hand and covered it with a long-sleeved shirt," the victim said in his report.

Due to this incident, the owner of the Diamond Jewelry shop suffered losses and reported it to the Kelapa Gading Police.

Kelapa Gading Police Chief, Kompol Seto Handoko Putra said, following up on the police report, his party carried out an investigation.

Based on the instructions, the perpetrator was a woman with the characteristics of wearing a blue long shirt, white trousers, blue headscarf and a brown bag.

The perpetrator apparently had moved to a residence because the house contract had expired and had moved to one of the apartments in the Altiz Apartment, 2nd floor, No.219, Jalan Bintaro Utama 3A No.1, Pondok Karya, Pondok Aren District, South Tangerang City, Banten.

"Then the opsnal team headed to the residence in the Altiz Apartment. Based on similar characteristics to those on CCTV, the perpetrator was then arrested," said Kompol Seto in his statement, Sunday, August 3, 2025.

After the search. The search found one long, blue, white long shirt, one white trousers, one blue headscarf, and a brown bag from the Hermes brand.

Furthermore, the perpetrators and evidence were brought to the Kelapa Gading Police for further investigation. For his actions, AM is threatened with being charged with the Crime of Theft of Jewelry Necklaces as referred to in the formulation of Article 362 of the Criminal Code.
