KAI: The Cause Of The Drop In The Argo Bromo Anggrek Train Is Still Being Investigated

President Director of PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) or KAI Didiek Hartantyo said the cause of the drop in the Argo Bromo Anggrek train (KA) at the Pegadenbaru Station, Subang, West Java, is not yet known. Currently, the investigation is still ongoing.

Didiek said the investigation was carried out by the Directorate General of Railways (DJKA) of the Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) and the National Transportation Safety Committee (KNKT).

"We apologize for the cause of being investigated by the Ministry of Transportation, DJKA, together with the NTSC. We will wait, yes, until a few days later," he said when met in Gambir, Jakarta, Sunday, August 3.

For your information, the Argo Bromo Anggrek train fell in the standings of Pegadenbaru Station, Subang, West Java on Friday, August 1. The evacuation of train facilities will soon be carried out starting at 23:50 WIB and finished at 07:07 WIB on Saturday, August 2.

After the evacuation of the facilities was completed, KAI carried out infrastructure improvements to ensure the smooth running of the next train. The affected line can be used again since 10.57 WIB on Saturday 2 August and was first passed by Argo Lawu Train at a limited speed.

"Today, there is still a rapid spread of up to 60 km per hour. We continue to strive for normalization so that the traffic returns to normal speed, to 120 km per hour," he said.

Didiek said that the drop in the Argo Bromo Anggrek train made 80 train trips canceled and 42 trips continued with a rotating operation pattern.

"As a result of this incident, a total of 80 train trips had to be canceled and 42 other trips were diverted via the Purwokerto-Kroya-Bandung route," he said.

Didiek ensured that KAI would provide full refunds or 100 percent for customers who canceled tickets due to this disturbance.

"Refund submissions can be made at stations up to 7x24 hours after the departure schedule. In addition, KAI also provides compensation in the form of service recovery for customers who experience significant delays," he said.

KAI VP Public Relations Anne Purba said after the incident, all passengers were successfully evacuated by officers on duty in the field.

Furthermore, Anne said, her party ensured that the safety of passengers was our top priority, and immediately took action to avoid further potential hazards.

"We also convey that there were no casualties in this incident, KAI will make efforts to engineer operating patterns to ensure that other train trips remain served," he said in an official statement, Friday, August 1.
