Bandarlampung City Government Invites Young Generations To Love Local Culture More Through The Ngigel Dance Parade
The Bandarlampung City Government has again shown its commitment to preserving local culture by holding the Ngigel Dance Cultural Parade, Sunday, August 3.
In this activity, the Mayor of Bandarlampung, Eva Dwiana, invited the younger generation, especially millennials and Gen Z, to know, love, and promote the typical culture of Lampung.
Young people in Bandarlampung must understand their own regional culture more. Let's introduce Lampung culture to tourists, both from within and outside the country," Eva said after the cultural parade took place.
This activity is not only aimed at preserving traditional arts, but also strengthens pride in local identity. Eva emphasized the importance of preserving cultural heritage that has been passed down from generation to generation by ancestors.

The Ngigel dance itself became the main icon of the event. This traditional dance depicts the wealth and unique traditions of the people of Lampung, as well as being one of the important symbols in regional culture.
"Kampung memiliki kekayaan budaya yang luar biasa. Bukan hanya art tari, tapi juga kuliner khas seperti Sekubal yang harus kita jaga keberadaannya," tambahnya.
Apart from being a cultural conservation event, this parade is also a means of strengthening relations between city residents. This activity involves various elements of society, ranging from representatives of government agencies, sub-districts, to the cultural community.
"We want all citizens, from various ethnic and religious backgrounds, to be involved and feel they have Lampung culture. This also strengthens friendship in society," Eva explained.
Through activities like this, the Bandarlampung City Government hopes that the community will be more active in efforts to preserve culture, as well as contribute to the development of cultural-based tourism in Lampung Province.
