MSMEs Show Off At Kediri City Shopping Week 2025

JAKARTA - MSME actors in Kediri City are increasingly showing positive activity in supporting the local economy. Various initiatives were held to bring their products closer to the community, one of which was through the 2025 Kediri City Shopping Week.

Not only being a place of promotion and sales, this activity is also a collaborative space between MSME players, traditional market traders, and the arts and cultural community.

Deputy Mayor of Kediri, KH Qowimuddin Thoha, revealed that this agenda is part of the city government's strategy in reviving traditional markets and strengthening the position of local products in the community.

"We invite residents to participate in celebrating this shopping week. Shopping while supporting MSMEs, as well as having the opportunity to get attractive prizes," he said when met, as quoted by ANTARA.

Interestingly, the launch of this Shopping Week coincides with the Mahakarya Power of Java, which will be held at Memorial Park, Kediri City and will last until October 2025. This activity is the peak of the commemoration of the 1,146th Anniversary of the City of Kediri, featuring a synergy between art, culture, and creative economy performances.

This year's Kediri City Shopping Week presents a total of 343 traders from various sectors, including six traditional markets and 24 MSME groups who participate in serving a variety of superior products, ranging from typical foods, handicrafts, to locality-based creative goods. For business actors who want to join, the Trade and Industry Office (Disperdagin) opens an open registration.

Meanwhile, the Mahakarya Power of Java stage presents a variety of art performances that combine traditional and contemporary elements. From the series, karawitan, to acoustic music performances by local musicians, all are formulated to raise the spirit of culture.

Gus Qowim, the Deputy Mayor's nickname, called this performance a collective reminder of Kediri's history and identity.

"This is not just entertainment, but also how we maintain the spirit of mutual cooperation and the cultural values that have formed this city," he said.

The event also featured the legendary role of Panji Wiratama, which tells the story of the courage and dedication of Panji Asmoro Bangun in maintaining the truth and defending the country.

The story is performed in a stunning theatrical form, complete with a modern mix of dances, music, and visual stages. The figure of Panji is described as a symbol of strength, collaboration, and shared responsibility for building a better future.

The Head of Kediri City Sub-district, Bagus Hermawan Apriyanto, added that this kind of cultural agenda is a space for appreciation for local art actors and the younger generation to show their creativity.

At the same time, this activity is also a momentum to stimulate the people's economy through the MSME bazaar which continues to be crowded.

"In addition to being a cultural conservation event, this also drives the community's economy. This is not only a celebration of the anniversary of the City of Kediri, but also part of the spirit of welcoming the 80th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia," he said.
