Son Heung-Min Go, Spurs Coach: Many Replacement Options

JAKARTA - Son Heung-Min's exit from Tottenham Hotspur was completely open after Son revealed he would soon leave Tottenham Hotspur in this summer's transfer window.

To anticipate, Tottenham Hotspur coach Thomas Frank has prepared a replacement option if the captain leaves.

Frank said he had pocketed a number of names to replace Son's role filling the left-wing line post.

"When a player leaves the team, another player has a chance to shine. How come Johnson has played on the left, Wilson Odobert performed well there against Arsenal (in the test match), Mathys Tel can too," said Thomas Frank, quoted from the club's official website, reported by ANTARA, Saturday, August 2.

The South Korean national team captain decided to leave Tottenham Hotspur Stadium after successfully delivering the club based in the city of London to win the title.

Son last season led The Lily Whites to secure the Europa League title.

The German coach responded to Son's decision which was considered a very difficult decision because he was a Spurs legend.

"For me personally, I would love to work with this fantastic person and player. He is a true Spurs legend in all aspects," said Thomas Frank.

Son came to Spurs in the August 2015 transfer window after being brought in from Bayer Leverkusen.

Since then, he has been the focus of the North London club's attack with a collection of 173 goals, 101 assists, and one Europa League trophy from 454 matches in all competitions.
