JAKARTA - Minister of Law (Menkum) Supratman Andi Agtasmembekan alasan Presiden Prabowo Subianto memberikan pemohonan berupa amnesty dan abolisi kepada Sekjen PDIP, Hasto Kristiyanto, dan Eks Menteri Perdagangan (Mendang) Thomas Trikasih Lembong alias Tom Lembong. Salah satunya agar seluruh kekuatan poltik dapat membangun Indonesia.
"The president does not interfere with the matter of the legal process, but the president still has considerations on how all political forces can jointly build this Republic," Supratman told reporters, Friday, August 1.
Moreover, in the near future there will be the 80th day of Indonesia's independence. Therefore, according to the Minister of Law and Human Rights, Prabowo wants all strength to join hands for one goal of building the Indonesian nation.
All strengths must be united because it is undeniable that building the Indonesian nation is not an easy matter. A big challenge awaits and must be passed.
"The global challenges are extraordinary, geopolitical and so on, so it takes great heart and togetherness," he said.
However, he emphasized, in granting the pardon, Prabowo would not interfere with the legal process. Only use the prerogative of the person for the benefit of the nation.
"Especially those related to Pak Tom Lembong, then Pak Hasto, once again this is not a matter of the president not interfering in the affairs of the legal process," said Sutarman.
