Bobby Nasution Asked For Help From Military District Commander And Medan Police To Supervise Health Centers In Medan Market
MEDAN - TNI/Police officials in Medan City, North Sumatra, will help oversee health protocols in shopping centers and markets. The goal is to prevent the transmission of COVID-19 due to increased buying and selling activities ahead of Eid.
"Towards Eid al-Fitr, there is usually a crowd in the market. Alhamdulillah, we ask for help from the Military District Commander 020/BS and Medan Police so that together we can protect the prokes at the center of the market", said Medan Mayor Bobby Nasution as quoted by Antara, Friday, May 7.
Bobby Nasution said that efforts to break the chain of the spread of COVID-19 in traditional markets will be implemented at the end of this week, as it is estimated that the number of market visitors will increase.
Mayor Bobby acknowledged that the Medan City Government had difficulties in insulating and stemming visitors to the market ahead of the Muslim holiday.
"At a minimum, what we have to do is keep the health protocols tightly. In essence, the health protocols must be maintained", said the in-law of President Joko Widodo.
In addition, continued Bobby Nasution, the market center must provide handwashing facilities, monitoring posts, and officers always remind visitors and traders not to neglect the health protocols.
"From our observation to the market center, I had time to reprimand visitors and traders for not wearing masks. This is so that traders reprimand buyers for not wearing masks", he said.
