Ombudsman Asks For Disdik In The Head Of Sanctions For Teachers Selling Books

PANGKALPINANG - Representative of the Ombudsman of Bangka Belitung Islands Province asked the Education Office (Disdik) throughout the Babel Islands to impose strict sanctions on teachers who buy books and illegal levies at schools.

"We hope that the public will report if they find activities to deposit books in schools or levies that are outside other regulations," said Head of the Babel Islands Ombudsman Representative Shulby Yozar Ariadhy in Pangkalpinang, Friday, August 1, as reported by ANTARA.

He appreciated the Pangkalpinang City Education and Culture Office, Babel Islands Province, for issuing Circular Number 100.4.4/2082/DIKBUD/VII/2025, regarding the ban on committees and schools as places to sell LKS books, other companion books, school uniforms and not directing them to buy at certain stores.

"We hope that the education office and education units under the Ministry of Religion in other districts will issue a circular ban like this, so that no more schools will make transactions to entrust the sale of student work books (LKS) or other companion books," he said.

This circular also prohibits the committee and schools from making all forms of levies or donations that are binding, forcing, determining the amount and time of the gift.

In addition, there are points of imposition of sanctions in accordance with Government Regulation 94 of 2021 concerning Employee Discipline if it is proven that the principal (PNS/ASN) has neglected these violations.

"This penalty point is the key because it is impossible for the principal to not know such activities. Moreover, if the principal clearly commits neglect or neglect of violations, of course this must be considered a serious violation committed by the principal," he said.

He emphasized that this violates Article 30 PP 57 of 2021 concerning National Education Standards and considering the impact it needs to be carried out by imposing sanctions through PP 94 of 2021 concerning Civil Servant Discipline.

"If the principal has carried out his duties and supervisory functions optimally, it will be able to minimize all forms of violations of the rules while creating inclusive, fair and reliable educational conditions," he said.
