Access To Narrow And Unhealthy Roads, Piles Of Garbage In Cakung Milling Are Complained By Residents
JAKARTA - Residents complained about piles of mounting garbage covering the access road in the Milling area, Cakung, East Jakarta.
The garbage covered some of the road bodies, hampering the activities of residents and passing motorists.
"Almost more than a week there is this time the garbage is full to pile up closing the road, it's been a long time," said one local resident, Bayu (33), quoted from ANTARA, Friday, August 1, 2025.
Moreover, the aroma, he said, was strongly smelled. "If we are used to it, but if other residents complain, especially passersby drivers, you can't just pass by, you can't smell garbage," he said.
According to Bayu, this location has long been a temporary waste shelter (TPS) for local residents, even since 2007.
But in recent times, the volume of waste thrown into that location has increased until it finally covered the road.

"In the past, he dumped it in Bantar Gebang. But now it is said that because there was a problem or landslide there, the garbage truck lane was limited. So here it is booming," said Bayu.
Even though the road is only a small road known as an alternative road or a "rat road", the existence of garbage is still disturbing, especially for road users who want to turn around.
"Yes, this is just a rat road, not the main thing. But it's still a bother, people have a hard time turning around," he said.
According to observations at the location, household waste to market waste piled up on the side of the road connecting residential areas to the Buaran area.
Not only does it cause an unpleasant odor, the existence of the garbage also triggers puddles and narrows the space for vehicle movement.
Previously, a video viral on Instagram social media @infogiling showing piles of garbage closed the road in the Milling area, Cakung, East Jakarta.
In the video, it can be seen that the access road for residents is covered in garbage that overflows from the TPS.
"This condition has been going on for the past few weeks and there has been no serious handling. The pile-up of garbage has caused some roads to close and disrupt the activities of local residents," wrote the video caption uploaded by @infogiling.
