2 Balinese Immigration Staff Rankingi The Criminal Action Of Russian Citizens, Persecution To Riceing Foreigners

The Bali Police arrested four people who carried out the persecution accompanied by threats and extortion of Russian Foreign Citizens (WNA) with the initials RS (42) in Jimbaran, South Kuta District, Badung Regency, Bali.

Four people were arrested consisting of two Russian foreigners with the initials IV (30) and IS (32).

The other two are two Indonesian citizens (WNI) with the initials EL (24) and a woman with the initials YB (24) who is an immigration staff in Bali who is suspected of ranking up the crime.

"The modus operandi of this group is to extort by kidnapping and molestation, and threatens to take the victim to the immigration office and deport him," said Bali Police Chief Inspector General Daniel Adityajaya, Friday, August 1.

"(For the two Indonesian citizens) we convey that this is an individual from the immigration authorities we mentioned earlier with two initials. Currently, we are continuing to coordinate and to carry out the next process with immigration," he added.

Next, came a pair of men and women in immigration officers uniform who forced the victim to open their cellphones, take personal data and take photos of their passports.

The victim was then interrogated about USD 150,000 belonging to someone with the initials R, accompanied by intimidation and threats.

"The reporter is threatened with deportation, imprisonment, even being killed if he does not cooperate, and is asked not to report the incident," he added.

Due to the incident, the hospital victim suffered physical injuries and reported it to the police.

Furthermore, the Bali Police Ditreskrimum Resmob Team conducted an investigation, until they obtained information about the vehicle used by the perpetrator and CCTV around the incident on Friday (18/7) at 10:00 WITA.

The police then arrested two Russian perpetrators. From there, 2 Balinese Immigration officers were also arrested.

However, there is one other perpetrator who is suspected of being the mastermind of the group, GG, who is currently still at large.

"We are currently developing GG," he explained.

The Kapolda explained that the perpetrators did it

Previously, we also continued to coordinate with central immigration regarding this issue," said the Bali Police Chief.

For their actions, the perpetrators who are now named suspects were charged with Article 170 of the Criminal Code and/or Article 351 of the Criminal Code, in conjunction with Articles 55 and 56 of the Criminal Code regarding criminal acts of beatings and/or persecution.
