Boss Hutama Karya: Trans Sumatra Betung - Jambi - Pekanbaru Toll Road Investment Reaches IDR 208 Trillion
JAKARTA - The construction of the Trans Sumatra Toll Road continues to be accelerated. PT Hutama Karya (Persero) recorded that the investment value of the Trans Sumatra Toll Road corridor for the Betung-Jambi-Pekanbaru section reached IDR 208 trillion. Meanwhile, this value is for the construction of two lines.
President Director Hutama Karya Budi Harto said the company is also preparing to build the Betung-Jambi-Pekanbaru segment with another scheme, namely the Trans Sumatra Toll Road segment will only be built 2 times in one lane. Budi said that if this scheme were to be used, the investment value would not reach IDR 200 trillion.
"So I mentioned earlier if the Betung-Pekanbaru route was built with 2 lanes it would require funds of IDR 208 trillion. But if one route is built 2 times by the current traffic conditions there, it only needs IDR 147 trillion in funds", he said in a Webinar Indonesia Muda Club, Friday, May 7.
Budi said the shareholder's funding for the Betung-Jambi-Pekanbaru segment had not been finalized. This is because currently, several Ministers in the Advanced Indonesia Cabinet are discussing development financing based on the two schemes.
Even so, said Budi, Hutama Karya as a wealthy state-owned company trusted by the government as a contractor has prepared a basic design for the corridor.
"From Betung-Pekanbaru we call the Betung route, which is now being prepared by the government regarding the source of funding. Because this is very large that is needed", he said.
Budi said, currently 513 km of the Trans Sumatra toll road from 7 segments have been operating. Meanwhile, the 550 km toll road is in the construction stage, which is targeted to operate early in 2023.
For information, the Trans Sumatra Toll Road consists of the main corridor of 2,069 km and a supporting corridor of 919 km, which is targeted to be fully operational by 2024.
