Anies Tells Tom Lembong's Response To Abolition: God Works In An Unexpected Way
JAKARTA - Former Minister of Trade (Mendag) Thomas Trikasih Lembong or Tom Lembong had mentioned that God was working in an unexpected way. This was said after learning about the awarding of an abolition from President Prabowo Subianto
Tom Lembong's statement was conveyed by Anies Baswedan who had visited him at the Cipinang Class 1 Detention Center, Jakarta.
"He said God always sided with and gave way to the truth, and he said God works in the mysterious ways, God works in unexpected ways," Anies said, imitating Tom Lembong's question, Friday, August 1.
Separately, Tom Lembong's attorney, Ari Yusuf Amir, said that his client accepted the abolition given by Prabowo with the approval of the DPR RI.
Regarding the time of release, it is said that it is still in process. Because, waiting for the issuance of a Presidential Decree (Keppres) related to the abolition.
"The point is that we received this subscription, yes and now there is still processing for the administration," he said.

It is hoped that the Presidential Decree will be completed and will be followed up immediately. So, Tom Lembong can return to his family.
"Today what we heard is that the Presidential Decree will be issued today, hopefully this administrative process can take place sooner," said Ari.
The DPR approved the President's letter number R43/Pres072025 dated July 30, 2025 regarding a request for consideration from the DPR RI for the awarding of abolition on behalf of Tom Lembong's brother.
"Abolition of Tom Lembong. Pres number R43/Pres 07 2025 dated July 30, 2025, on the consideration of the DPR RI's approval of giving an abolition to Tom Lembong's brother," said Dasco.
Abolition is the elimination or elimination of a criminal event. This term is contained in Article 14 of the 1945 Constitution which regulates the prerogative or the privilege of the president by taking into account the considerations of the DPR RI.
