Conor McGregor Loses In Rape Case Appeal

JAKARTA The civil appeal attempt by UFC star Conor McGregor regarding the rape case has been rejected by the Irish appeals court.

Citing The Guardian, Dublin's appeal court rejected all reasons for the mixed martial arts star's appeal and found her guilty of the rape case against Nikita Hand.

"To all the survivors out there, I know how difficult this is, but please, don't silence it."

"You deserve to be heard, you also deserve justice. Today, I was finally able to move on and try to recover," Hand said outside the court.

McGregor previously in November 2024 received an order to pay compensation of 206,000 pounds (approximately IDR 4.4 billion) to Nikita Hand.

The woman accused McGregor of raping her at a hotel in Dublin in 2018. However, the fighter denied the allegations and said their relationship was entirely consensual.

McGregor did not appear at the verdict hearing. Meanwhile, Nikita Hand attended the trial with several supporters.

McGregor's appeal stems from the guilt of his lawyer who felt the answer during an interview with the police should not have been conveyed to the judge.

In an appeal heard earlier this month, McGregor's attorney said the judge was wrong in directing the jury to decide on sexual assault on the victim.

Judge Brian O'Moore said the appeals court did not doubt the overall impact of the court judge's indictment that McGregor committed sexual violence.

Hand previously told the high court in November 2024 that he and a friend contacted McGregor, who he knew, after a Christmas party at the office.

He said they were escorted by McGregor to a party in a hotelroom in Dublin, where drugs and alcohol are consumed.

He said McGregor, who was not present at the court on Thursday, July 31, 2025, took him to a bedroom in My relief and sexually assaulted him.

Hand then had to be referred to the sexual violence treatment unit a day after the alleged violence. There, a doctor who is worried about ordering the victim's injuries should be photographed as evidence.
