What Is CKG For School Children? This Is Understanding And Targeting
YOGYAKARTA - In the new school year for school children in 2025/2026, the Ministry of Health provides a Free Health Check (CKG) program for schoolchildren which will be held simultaneously throughout Indonesia. What is CKG for school children?
CKG is a health check activity aimed at children and adolescents aged 7 to 17 years. The examination will be carried out by health workers from the local health center. Apart from being free, the CKG program also brings services closer directly to the target, so children do not have to come to the puskesmas to get this free health check, unless they are required to undergo further examination.
CKG is carried out to identify risk factors, detection of pre-disease conditions, and early detection of diseases so that governance can be carried out quickly and on target. PKG targets for School Children are not only carried out on students in schools, but also for children and adolescents outside formal schools. Examinations will be held in schools for elementary school students, junior high school/mTs, SMA/MA/SMK, and Islamic boarding schools equivalently. Meanwhile, children and adolescents outside formal schools will receive an examination at the puskesmas.
There are various types of examinations given in CKG activities of School Children, including examination of nutritional status, examination of levels of physical activity, examination of the risk of non-communicable diseases, such as blood pressure and blood sugar, as well as examining ears, eyes, and teeth.
Screening of infectious diseases is also given including hepatitis screening, reproductive health and immunization history. In addition, there is also a screening of mental health and the risk of smoking behavior and napza carried out by giving a quasisioner filled with parents or children. Especially at the level of junior high and high school equivalent, talasemia and anemia will be added.
Minister of Health (Menkes) Budi Gunadi Sadikin at the Opening of the People's School Recognition Period for the 2025/2026 Academic Year, Monday (14/7/2025) affirms his commitment to ensure the health of students is maintained during his study period.

The CKG program is one of the main pillars in the implementation of the People's School. The inspection is carried out thoroughly before students live in dormitories, including weight and height measurements, dental health checks, eyes, heart tests, and blood tests.
