Japanese Foreigner Dies In Accident At West Karawang Toll Gate

A foreign national (WNA) from Japan was reported to have died in a traffic accident on the road around the West Karawang Toll Gate, Margakaya Village, Telukjambe Barat District, Karawang Regency, West Java.

Karawang Police Public Relations Ipda Cep Wildan said the accident that resulted in the Japanese foreigner Yukihiro Nabae (63) dying involved two vehicles, a dump Hino truck with the number B-9596-UQA and a Minibus Toyota Vexy number B-2052-FBB.

"The victim who died named Yukihiro Nabae is a Toyota Vexy minibus passenger," Wildan was quoted as saying by ANTARA, Thursday, August 1.

The accident began when a dump truck loaded with land driven by Mamat (38), a resident of Subang Regency, crossed the road around the West Karawang Toll Gate on Wednesday, July 30.

Allegedly the driver lost control, the dump truck then hit the road media until it overturned.

A moment later, the large car hit a minibus on the right lane.

As a result of the incident, one foreigner victim from Japan, Yukihiro Nabae, who was a minibus passenger, died at the scene. Meanwhile, the truck driver suffered minor injuries and was immediately taken to Rosela Hospital Karawang for medical treatment.

Wildan said that the Head of the Karawang Police Traffic Unit, AKP Abdurrohman Hidayat, together with the Karawang Police Gakkum team, had conducted a crime scene investigation for the accident.

The police also confiscated a number of evidences, as well as ensured that the evacuation process was safe and smooth.

The police said that motorists should always increase vigilance and discipline in traffic, for the safety of themselves and others on the highway.
