COVID-19 Cases In Tanah Laut South Kalimantan Are Not Yet Sloping, 239 Residents Are Still Being Treated

KALIMANTAN - As many as 239 residents of Tanah Laut Regency, South Kalimantan (South Kalimantan) are still being treated for exposure to COVID-19.

Head of the Tanah Laut District Health Office, Nina Sandra, said the number of positive cases of COVID-19 in Tanah Laut Regency had not shown a significant decrease.

"This is an indication of negligence in implementing health protocols in the community," said Nina as quoted by Antara, Friday, May 7.

Based on data as of May 6, there were 239 patients being treated due to exposure to the COVID-19 virus.

Nina hopes that the public will not be bored to continue implementing health protocols so that the potential spread of COVID-19, especially before and after Eid al-Fitr can be kept under control.

"The public is getting bored because this pandemic has been going on for more than a year. But we are constantly appealing for the discipline of health protocols to be carried out so that the COVID-19 virus can be disconnected and quickly passed," said Nina.

He also conveyed that the public needed to anticipate a spike in COVID-19 cases. The movement of people during Eid through restrictions on micro-scale community activities that have been implemented by the government needs to be considered.

"People during Eid will visit relatives' homes or unconsciously shake hands with neighbors to apologize to each other. Even though we don't know, we could be exposed to the COVID-19 virus and pass it on to other people," he said.
