It Turns Out That This Is The Reason BYD Atto 1 Prices Can Be Cheap
TANGERANG - PT BYD Motor Indonesia has hit the national automotive market with an electric car entering its level, Atto 1 or known as Seagull in its home country.
Interestingly, the price of the latest electric car from the automotive giant from China is relatively friendly in pocket. Yes, BYD costs Atto 1 at IDR 195 million on the road in Jakarta and the most expensive is at IDR 235 million.
It turned out that the cheap price for the model was not without reason. President Director of PT BYD Motor Indonesia Eagle Zhao opened his voice. According to him, there are several factors that make the car have a low price without sacrificing quality.
"One week ago we just launched Atto 1. Two years earlier, we have been doing research on city cars in Indonesia," he said, on the sidelines of the GIIAS 2025 exhibition, Wednesday, July 30.
In fact, BYD took a bold step by making Indonesia the first country to turn right for this one model. This step was taken because BYD saw great potential in the domestic market.
Eagle said that the main key behind the car price was so affordable because the supply chain approach was vertically integrated aka vertical integration. In fact, almost all the main components in the BYD car themselves do not depend on external suppliers.
"BYD is the only automaker that has complete technology, ranging from batteries, electric motors, to semiconductors. Except for tires and glasses, we produce everything ourselves," he said.
With this price, of course, it makes many people interested in this one car, as can be seen from the interest of visitors visiting GIIAS 2025, to see the car firsthand.
"We are also surprised, it turns out that this accessible price can be well received by the public. This certainly proves that our strategy is quite solid," he concluded.
