Rupiah Is Estimated To Weaken To Rp16,550 Per US Dollar, Market Awaits NFP Data
JAKARTA - The rupiah exchange rate in Friday's trading, August 1, 2025, will tend to weaken against the United States (US) dollar.
To note, citing Bloomberg, on Thursday, July 31, the rupiah spot exchange closed down 0.31 percent to the level of Rp. 16,456 per US dollar. Meanwhile, the Jakarta Interbank Spot Dollar Rate (Jisdor) exchange rate of Bank Indonesia (BI) closed down 0.44 percent to a price level of Rp. 16,459 per US dollar.
Doo Financial Futures analyst Lukman Leong said that the movement of the Rupiah is expected to weaken against the US dollar.
"Rupiah is expected to weaken against the US dollar which continues to strengthen after US job data on unemployment claims that are stronger than expected," he told VOI, Friday, August 1.

In addition, he added that investors are also anticipating the release of Non-Farm Payrolls (NFP) data tonight, which is expected to show solid employment sector conditions.
"Investors are also anticipating the numbers of NFP jobs tonight which are expected to still show a solid work sector," he said.
He conveyed that the movement of the rupiah on Friday, August 1, is projected to move in the range of Rp. 16,400 per US dollar to Rp. 16,550 per US dollar.
