A Gang Of 30 Cross-Provincial Showroom Burglars Arrested By Serang Police

SERANG - Mobile Investigation Team (Resmob) The Serang Police Satreskrim arrested a gang of motorized vehicle thieves (curanmor) who broke into 30 showrooms in the province of Banten, West Java, and Jakarta.

Serang Police Chief AKBP Condro Sasongko said in the operation his party arrested four main actors and two custodians. This gang has a specific modus operandi, namely breaking into a motorbike showroom at night by damaging the rolling door using a thigh and screwdriver.

"The perpetrator admitted that he had acted at 30 crime scenes. After successfully breaking down the door, they were able to take away three to seven motorbikes as well as from the showroom," he said.

The four arrested executors are VSP (26), AH (22), BOH (26), and KS (26), all residents of South Tapanuli, North Sumatra. They were arrested at a coffee shop in Kibin District, Serang Regency, on Monday (21/7) night while planning their next action.

The disclosure of this big case began with a report by a showroom owner in Binuang District, Serang Regency, who lost three motorbikes on Saturday (19/7).

"Armed with the report, our team moved quickly to carry out an investigation and succeeded in arresting the main actors in less than 2x24 hours," he explained.

From the statements of the perpetrators, the stolen motorbikes were sold to two collectors, RS (23) and MAS (36), with prices ranging from Rp. 5 million to Rp. 12 million. The Resmob team then chased down the two collectors who had been hiding before being arrested in Bandung, West Java.

This chain of crimes does not stop there. The stolen motorbikes were then brought by the collectors to Palembang, South Sumatra, to be resold.

"We are still developing this case because we have pocketed the identity of the other perpetrators involved in this network and are in pursuit," said the Police Chief.

For their actions, the suspects will be charged with Article 363 of the Criminal Code concerning theft and weighting with a threat of 7 years in prison.
