YouTube Reportedly Will Hide Comments Section In Mobile App
JAKARTA - YouTube is reportedly testing a new user interface (UI/user interface) for its mobile app. In this new UI, some important elements of the video, such as the channel logo, number of subscribers (subscribers), comments section, even the share button (share) and download (download), have been hidden from the main screen. These options are now being moved to the dropdown menu.
YouTube is a major choice for most users around the world, especially when searching for video content such as reviews, short videos, and instructional guidance. Google periodically updates the platform to make sure it stays up-to-date. Now, YouTube is reportedly testing a new UI from its mobile app, where the comments section has been completely hidden from the screen.
YouTube gets updates almost every week. This time, its mobile app will experience major UI changes. A user on Discord gets access to the UI of a YouTube mobile app that is under development.
If we take a closer look at the new UI screenshots shared, it can be seen that some elements have been hidden. Almost every important thing, such as the channel logo, number of customers, and the share button, has been hidden from the screen. And yes, YouTube has also hidden the comments section. However, these elements are not completely removed from the app. To access it, you have to tap the dropdown button located right next to the video title.

While the exact reasons behind this change are still unknown, YouTube is likely to do this to allow users to see more content on the screen. And options like the share button and the comment section won't go away; they're just hidden behind the new layer. However, users have different views on these changes.
A user on Reddit has expressed his dissatisfaction with this new UI. Indeed, giving more space to display content on the screen is the right choice. But hiding important factors from videos, such as the comments section on the screen, is not something that makes sense.
The comments section allows users to express their views and see other people's views on the content. Hiding it in a new option seems quite divisive.
