The Ministry Of Transportation Calls The Average Jakartans Spending IDR 1.5 Million For Transportation

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) through the Directorate General of Multimodal Transportation Integration (Intram) revealed that the average transportation costs incurred by Jakarta residents reached around Rp. 1.5 million per month.

Director General Of Intram Risal Wasal said the transportation costs incurred by Jakarta residents were quite high. However, Jakarta residents' expenses are still lower than Surabaya and Bekasi.

"Jakarta averages Rp1,590,000 issued for transportation. Surabaya turns out to be higher than Jakarta, Rp1,620,000. Bekasi is Rp1,900,000," he said in a press background in Jakarta, Thursday, July 31.

Based on the data presented by Risal, the transportation costs incurred by Depok residents are quite high, namely Rp1,802,751 per month. Then, Bogor Rp1,235,613 per month. Then, Jayapura Rp1,127,984 per month.

Risal said the high transportation costs incurred by residents of Jakarta and Bekasi were due to additional costs for online motorcycle taxis (ojol) to public transportation such as trains, to vehicle parking costs.

"The questions are cheap Rp. 3,500 to Rp. 6,000, but the problem is the ojol Rp. 25,000, the parking is Rp. 10,000, this is what we will study," he explained.

Seeing the high cost of transportation, Risal said that his party would fix the integration of intermodal modes in the initial place of departure to the final destination, so that public transportation expenditures were suppressed.

"That's what we are fixing, how we could reduce the first mile and last mile. So, we can reduce the cost of the person for transportation," he said.

Saat ini, sambung Risal, warga Jabodetabek sudah mulai paham untuk mengakses transportasi umum yang bisa langsung menuju tempat tujuan seperti Jakarta.

“Sekarang ini alhamdulillah, untuk Jabotabek ya, Jakarta sudah sampai ke Jabotabek pelayanannya ini. Masyarakat sudah paham, sudah mengetahui bahwa ada transportasi yang bisa langsung masuk ke Jakarta dan biayanya terjangkau,” katanya.
