The Angry Response Of The Governor Of Edy, Bobby Nasution, Explains The Chaos Of The Quarantine In Medan
MEDAN - A polemic occurred between the Mayor of Medan Bobby Nasution and the Governor of North Sumatra (Gubsu) Edy Rahmayadi regarding the location of quarantine for Indonesian citizens from abroad in Medan.
Bobby Nasution emphasized his objection because he was not involved in determining the location and technical handling of Indonesian citizens undergoing isolation after arriving from abroad.
According to Bobby Nasution, starting May 1, hotels or quarantine places for Indonesian citizens arriving from abroad should no longer be used. But Bobby received information that this rule was not working.
This is the question of the Mayor of Medan. He received information that a family of Indonesian citizens was visited while undergoing quarantine. Even the visitors came from out of town.
"That's a lot of families who came. That's what I said yesterday, one hundred more hotels, that family came. Being told that it was impossible to meet, was not possible, his family had come from out of town from Medan, wanted to visit his family and were not told to come in and he was angry," he said. Bobby.
According to Bobby, the officers who supervise are not proportional to the number of Indonesian citizens who are undergoing quarantine. In addition, Bobby is also worried about the logistics of Indonesian citizens while undergoing quarantine.
"That's what we ask how the saur, how to break the fast, how to eat lunch for people who don't fast. Sometimes not all are covered. If they leave the hotel, who will stay," explained Bobby.
"We are sorry, in a few days they can still, if the economy is not good, it is impossible to eat at the hotel for 5 days, that's all. I think Medan City Government needs to support its troops, we are ready," he concluded.
