Fikri Hopes That The China Open 2025 Title Will Be A Turning Point
JAKARTA The men's doubles specialist, Muhammad Shohibul Fikri, hopes that the title he gets with Fajar Alfian at the 2025 China Open can be a turning point in his achievements.
Fajar/Fikri won the title after defeating the Malaysian pair Aaron Chia/Soh Wooi Yik in a two-game straight match on Sunday, July 27, 2025.
"First, I would like to say thank God for being able to win again after All England (2022). Hopefully it can be a turning point for me so that in the future it can be even better," he said.
On the way to become champions, Fajar/Fikri recordedly managed to beat four seeded. Aaron/Soh, who is the second seed, were their last victim.

Prior to that, they stopped fifth seed Liang Wei Berkeng/Wang Chang (China) in the semifinals, seeded three Kim Won-ho/Seo Seung-jae in the quarter-finals, and seventh seed Sabar Karyaman Gutama/Mohammad Reza Pahlevi Isfahani in the second half.
Fikri said that there was actually no target of winning from the coach because he and Fajar were impromptu couples who were united to take care of their physicalities.
"From the coach, the important thing is to just play well, look the best. Only, we have to have a target where we want to go so we know our abilities and quality," said Fikri.
The title in China helped Indonesia end the BWF World Tour title drought at Super 500 level and above. This is Fikri's first title after two and a half years since winning the All England 2022.
Fajar/Fikri were united as a couple because Daniel Martin was still injured and Muhammad Rian Ardianto was sidelined because of family matters.
Prior to China, they also appeared in the Japan Open 2025, where their journey only reached the quarter-finals. Fajar/Fikri in the future may return with their respective partners.
