KPK Continues To Communicate With The Attorney General's Office To Check Kajari And Kasidatun Mandailing Natal
JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is still communicating with the Attorney General's Office to examine Muhammad Iqbal, who is the Head of the District Attorney's Office and Gomgoman Halomoan Simbolon as the Head of the Civil and State Administration Section (Datun) of the Mandailing Natal Kejari.
It is known that Iqbal and Gomgoman Halomon Simbolon should have been examined as witnesses to the alleged bribery of road construction projects at the PUPR Service and PJN Satker Region 1 North Sumatra on Friday, July 18. However, this request for information was canceled because there was no permit from the Adhiyaksa Corps.
"That there has been communication with the Attorney General's Office, yes, the communication will later be used as a basis for conducting investigations," said KPK Chairman Setyo Budiyanto to reporters at the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Thursday, July 31.
Setyo has not detailed the results of coordination with the Attorney General's Office. He also could not confirm the mechanism for requesting information.
"Later we will communicate the matter, whether it involves or maybe he is between the High Prosecutor's Office there, yes, that's situational, I'm sure," he said.

Previously reported, the KPK did not examine Muhammad Iqbal, who is the Head of the Mandailing Natal District Attorney's Office on Friday, July 18. The reason is that there is no permit to ask for information from the Attorney General's Office and coordination is still ongoing.
Iqbal should have been questioned by KPK investigators as a witness to the alleged bribery of road construction projects at the PUPR Service and PJN Satker Region 1 North Sumatra. The request for information was carried out at the Medan City BPKP office.
"Yesterday, an investigation was not carried out," said KPK spokesman Budi Prasetyo to reporters at the KPK's Red and White building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Monday, July 18.
Apart from Iqbal, investigators from the anti-corruption commission also did not examine Gomgoman Halomoan Simbolon as Head of the Civil and State Administration Section (Datun) of the Mandailing Natal Kejari. "Later, if further information is needed, further examination will be carried out, summons will be made to the person concerned," said Budi.
Meanwhile, the AGO has no problem with the KPK's move to examine Muhammad Iqbal and Gomgoman Halomoan Simbolon as witnesses. Head of the AGO, Anang Supriatna, said that his party would not protect anyone internally as long as the process was in accordance with the mechanism.
"Because we are calling the prosecutor what it is like. But in principle we have no problem," said Anang at his office, Tuesday, July 22.
