Children's Health Is A Priority Of The Ministry Of Health, CKG Is Now Present At Schools And Health Centers
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) of the Republic of Indonesia will launch a Free Health Check (CKG) program specifically for children on August 4, 2025.
This program will be implemented in schools throughout Indonesia, as a continuation of the CKG which has started since February 2025.
Even though this program is focused on students, children who are not in school can still get free health check services. They can come to the nearest public health center (puskesmas), just like the general public who want to do CKG.
"For children who are not in school, please come to the puskesmas for inspection," explained the Director General of Primary Health and Community of the Indonesian Ministry of Health, dr. Maria Endang Sumiwi, MPH, at a press conference at the Ministry of Health on Thursday, July 31, 2025.
The CKG program specifically for school children is targeted for completion in December 2025. The inspection schedule at each school will be adjusted to the availability of time from the local school and health center.
Dr. Endang said that medical personnel from the puskesmas are sufficient to run this program. If needed, personnel from the auxiliary health center (pustu) will also be involved, especially in areas that have pustu facilities.
"We need at least four people in one examination, namely two from the puskesmas and two from the school," said Endang.
He added that simulations and calculations have been carried out, and this program is expected to be completed in 194 days if the puskesmas can come every day. However, the implementation will certainly be adjusted to the schedule of the puskesmas and schools.

There are two types of follow-up that will be carried out after the CKG school:
- Follow-up to Individuals: The results of each child's examination will be followed up personally at the first level health facility (FKTP) or puskesmas.
- Mass/Group Follow-up: After all data is collected, health centers, health services, and schools will analyze CKG results to see common health problems that often occur in school children in their area.
Dr. Endang emphasized the importance of the role of various parties in supporting the success of this program:
- Parents: Asked to prepare their children to attend CKG school. Encourage and make sure the child has breakfast before leaving for school.
- Schools and Puskesmas: It is hoped that it will provide education to parents and students about the importance of CKG schools so that they understand and want to do it well.
- Local Government: Asked to allocate resources and ensure all relevant parties understand and are able to run school CKG.
- Media and Society: Play a role in disseminating information about the importance of CKG schools to the wider audience.
