DANA Strengthens Collaboration with PPATK and Komdigi to Reduce Online Gambling Rates

JAKARTA - Digital wallet platform DANA is strengthening its collaboration with the Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Center (PPATK) through an initiative called "Synergy and Collaboration to Maintain the Digital Financial Ecosystem."

This initiative is part of the National Anti-Money Laundering and Terrorism Financing Prevention Movement (Gernas APU PPT), which involves support from Komdigi, Bank Indonesia, the Coordinating Ministry for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs, associations, academics, and the media.

This cross-sector collaboration is also expected to raise public awareness of the threat of digital crime and encourage active community involvement in addressing it.

Dana Indonesia CEO and Co-Founder Vince Iswara emphasized that DANA is committed to continuing to provide sustainable solutions that can prevent suspicious transactions while increasing public literacy and vigilance.

"We continue to strengthen our Fraud Detection System (FDS) and tighten risk parameters in line with the latest online gambling trends and typologies," Vince said in a written statement.

Since 2020, DANA has reported to the Ministry of Communication and Digital (Komdigi) over 39,000 websites and social media accounts suspected of facilitating online gambling, based on user complaints and internal monitoring.

Furthermore, DANA has also reported hundreds of thousands of user accounts suspected of engaging in similar activities to Komdigi, requiring their numbers to be blocked to prevent them from moving to other financial platforms.

Furthermore, DANA is also actively following up on over a thousand accounts discovered by Komdigi's cyber patrols.

The Director General of Digital Space Supervision, Alexander Sabar, also expressed his appreciation for DANA's ongoing consultation and communication with Komdigi to reduce online gambling.

"We appreciate the commitment and steps taken, as online gambling on DANA has decreased by 80 percent," said Alex.
