The Ministry Of Industry Guarantees The Supply Of Raw Materials For China's Coconut Downstream Project Plans In Indonesia
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) stated that there are a number of supports that it can provide in the downstream coconut project to be worked on by Chinese investors.
Director General of Agro Industry of the Ministry of Industry Putu Juli Ardika said one of his supports was to ensure the supply of coconut raw materials for the downstream factory.
"What we are doing is facilitating or ensuring the willingness of raw materials. Second, it is an investment to absorb technology and increase capacity," Putu told reporters at the Ministry of Industry office, Jakarta, quoted Thursday, July 31.
Third, the Ministry of Industry is ready to help provide coconut processing standards.
Fourth, help carry out business matching to bring together producers and consumers.
In addition, the Ministry of Industry will also help balance domestic coconut needs and export needs.
According to Putu, the downstream coconut project which was worked on investment from China amounting to Rp1.6 trillion is also in line with the government's program, as stated in the National Industrial Development Master Plan (RIPIN) and the National Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMN).
"If it is downstream, right, it is our obligation. It is already in the RIPIN, RPJMN and in the policies mandated by the Minister of Industry. And this continues," he explained.

Previously, the Minister of Investment and Downstreaming / Head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) Rosan Perkasa Roeslani revealed that Chinese companies are investing by building a downstream coconut factory in Indonesia.
"With China, we are quite active investment. I see that their appetites remain high in Indonesia and not only in mineral processing, they also go into processing for example coconut," said Rosan as quoted by Antara.
The Chinese company plans to invest by building coconut processing plants in several Indonesian cities.
"So, at first they invested in several cities. However, in one city the investment was 100 million US dollars. Later they will invest in several cities, but one factory (plant) is 100 million US dollars," said Rosan.
