Violation Of Standard Capai 212 Rice Brands, President Prabowo Orders Strict Action

JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto summoned a number of related ministers for a limited meeting (ratas) with one discussion regarding findings of violations of premium and medium rice quality standards in the market, Wednesday, July 30.

The meeting also involved the National Police Chief and the Attorney General. Minister of Agriculture (Mentan) Amran Sulaiman after the meeting with reporters explained that President Prabowo Subianto wanted serious law enforcers to deal with mixed rice violations.

Related to this, Amran explained that the results of the examination of 268 rice brands, it was found that 212 brands did not meet the standards set by the government.

Other findings were also submitted regarding the content of rice fractures that far exceeded the regulatory limits. According to Amran, the faults found reached 30, 35, 40, some even reached 50 percent.

The Minister of Agriculture also expressed President Prabowo Subianto's firm direction so that the legal process must run.
