Apple Announces Prehistoric Planet Documentary: Ice Age Coming In 5 Episodes
JAKARTA - Apple TV+ has just announced a new spectacle that is ready to grab attention, "Prehistoric Planet: Ice Age". This is a new episode of the award-winning series by executive producer Jon Favreau and Mike Gunton, produced by BBC Studios Natural History Unit ("Planet Earth").
The five-episode documentary series will premiere globally on November 26, 2025. It is ready to take viewers to a new era of dramatic prehistoric life, millions of years after the extinction of ice-forming dinosaurs, the fierce struggle to survive, and the rise of new giant groups: iconic megafauna.
In its development, "Prehistoric Planet: Ice Age" uses the latest scientific research and cutting-edge visual effects to revive this frozen world that has never existed before, uncovering the spectacular habitat and inhabitants of ancient Earth for an unforgettable experience. From the towering furthets to the difficult-to-catch snow posting, frightening sword-ring tigers to tough dwarf elephants (high only 90 cm), the series reveals the epic struggles and unexpected stories of the animals that once controlled the Ice Age.
The audience will explore the vast tundra, barren deserts, widespreadars, and melting ice sheets as these creatures struggle to survive the extreme climate, landscape change, and the start of "The Big Freeze," and finally, "The Big Melt."
The series is produced by a world-famous team in the BBC Studios Natural History Unit with the support of photorealistic visual effects from Framestore ("Gravity").
