AS Sanctions Brazilian Supreme Court Justice Alexandre De Moraes

JAKARTA - The United States imposed sanctions on Brazilian Supreme Court Justice Alexandre de Moraes on Wednesday.

This sanction notification was posted on the US Treasury website on Wednesday, July 30. But there are no further details regarding the sanctions imposed.

As reported by Reuters, the stipulation of these sanctions comes after US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said in June Washington was considering imposing sanctions on Alexandre de Moraes.

Moraes is subject to sanctions under the Global Magnitsky Act, which allows the US president to impose economic sanctions on foreigners who have records of corruption or human rights violations.
