Fashion Products To RI Halal Cosmetics Interested In Thai Markets, Potential Transactions Reaches IDR 9.19 Billion
JAKARTA - Indonesia's superior products ranging from Muslim fashion, food, cosmetics to home decorations to global markets.
This is reflected in the potential transaction of US$563,000 or around Rp9.19 billion at the Mega Halal Bangkok 2025 exhibition.
The exhibition took place from 16 to 18 July 2025 at the Bangkok International Trade and Exhibition Center (BITEC) in Bangkok, Thailand.
The Indonesian Pavilion has officially opened the Indonesian Ambassador to the Kingdom of Thailand Rachmat Budiman.
Indonesia's strategic participation in Mega Halal Bangkok 2025 is an initiative facilitated by the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia (KBRI) Bangkok, in collaboration with the Indonesian Ministry of Trade; Ministry of Industry of the Republic of Indonesia; Industry, Trade, Cooperatives, Small and Medium Enterprises DKI Jakarta Province; as well as the Indonesian Handicraft Exporters and Producers Association (ASEPHI).
RI Trade Attache Bangkok Rafika Arfani said Indonesia managed to strengthen its image as a major player in the global halal product industry.
The Indonesian Pavilion has succeeded in attracting the attention of international buyers.
Rafika said superior lifestyle products such as contemporary Muslim fashion, batik, innovative cosmetics, specialty coffee, premium snacks, to jewelry and handicrafts, as well as home decorations became an attraction at the Indonesian Pavilion.
"The diversity of this product shows that Indonesia is ready to lead the evolution of the halal industry which is no longer limited to food and beverage," said Rafika in an official statement, Wednesday, July 30.
Rafika assessed that Indonesia's participation in this exhibition was a form of economic diplomacy to show the progress of the halal industry.
The high enthusiasm of prospective Thai business partners and positive response from exhibition visitors gave a signal and an overview of the face of the modern, creative, and highly competitive Indonesian halal industry, said Rafika.
Meanwhile, Indonesian Ambassador to the Kingdom of Thailand Rachmat Budiman said that participating in the 2025 Mega Halal Bangkok is the right step to further promote Indonesian halal products.
Moreover, continued Rachmat, the extraordinary potential of the Indonesian halal sector has a very wide slice with a lifestyle sector and food and drinks.
"The participation in the 2025 Mega Halal Bangkok is a concrete step in supporting Indonesia's micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to go international and expand its business network. The positive response we received proves that the quality and creativity of Indonesian products is recognized on the world stage," said Rachmat.
During the exhibition, Indonesian business actors such as Damakara in the fashion sector and PT Multi Indo Citra (Kaalia), in the cosmetic sector received very high appreciation from visitors. Strong cooperation interests come from all over the world, including Thailand, Malaysia, Taiwan, Saudi Arabia, India, China, Japan, and Kuwait.
This success was also supported by business matching activities and discussion forums that effectively bridged Indonesian producers with distributors and potential buyers.
For your information, the Gotal value of Indonesia-Thailand trade for the period January to May 2025 was 7.86 billion US dollars.
Indonesia's exports to Thailand were recorded at 4.00 billion US dollars and imports from Thailand were 3.85 billion US dollars. Indonesia has a surplus of 147.10 million US dollars against Thailand.
In 2024, Indonesia's total trade with Thailand recorded a value of 17.44 billion US dollars.
Indonesia's exports to Thailand were recorded at 7.70 billion US dollars and imports from Thailand 9.73 billion US dollars.

Indonesia's main exports to Thailand include petroleum oil and oil obtained from minerals containing benchmarks; coal, briquettes, ovoids and solid fuels from coal; petroleum gas and hydrocarbon gas;estimated copper and copper alloys; as well as parts and accessories of motorized vehicles.
Meanwhile, Indonesia's imports from Thailand are rice, parts and accessories of motorized vehicles, sugar cane or purely chemical sugar and sucrose in solid form, polymers from ethylene in the form of origin, and motorized vehicles for the transportation of goods.
