Pakistani Man Smuggles Methamphetamine In Cryption Cans
The Directorate of Drug Investigation of the Metro Jaya Police arrested a foreign national (WNA) from Pakistan with the initials MAI (41) who smuggled 577 grams of methamphetamine in a snack can in North Jakarta.
"The method is that methamphetamine is stored in a large capsule and hidden in two cans of used potato chip snacks," said Head of Unit (Kanit) 3 Sub-Directorate 3 of the Metro Jaya Police's Narcotics Investigation Directorate AKP Abdul Muchzin in his statement in Jakarta, Wednesday.
Abdul explained that the arrests were made on Tuesday (29/7) at around 09.30 WIB in the parking area of Jalan Damar, East Pademangan, North Jakarta.
"After the officers received information from the public regarding the alleged drug trafficking in the area, the officers went straight to the crime scene," he said.

Abdul explained that the modus operandi used by the perpetrators was to enter Indonesia using a tourist visa.
"Then drugs were smuggled in by insertor, namely drugs were packaged in the form of small capsules and then swallowed (swallows) into the body, when they arrived in Indonesia, drugs were removed through the anus," he said.
Furthermore, 50 capsules of perpetrators and evidence were brought to the office of the Directorate of Drug Investigation (Ditresnarkoba) Polda Metro Jaya for further investigation.
