Parking On The Streets Of Jakarta Will Be Booked Via Mobile, Here's How

Head of the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency, Syafrin Liputo, said that his party is developing a parking digitization system for use in the JakParkir application.

Later, people can order (booking) parking their private vehicles in the parking area on street or parking the road through the application on their respective cellphones.

"The parking booking feature later, for example, I want to go to Jalan Sabang. So far, we just thought there was a parking slot or not. Well, it can be done through the JakParkir application later. This is still under development," said Syafrin at DKI Jakarta City Hall, Wednesday, July 30.

Syafrin revealed that online parking bookings can be made before arriving at the parking location. However, when the parking area has been ordered, the duration of the parking use time has also begun to be calculated.

"Once he is in question of booking, then in the next few minutes it will be calculated starting from the margin of the road. (Recorded) that it has been calculated to be used," explained Syafrin.

Then, after the parking booking is made, the officer will receive a notification and immediately mark the parking lot that has been ordered.

"Our officer at the on-street parking location will receive a notification and immediately place the stick cone, (marking) that it has been booked," he said.

Furthermore, Syafrin admitted that the parking booking feature still needs time to be implemented carefully. The target is that all parking points in 244 Jakarta roads will have implemented this feature in the next two years.

"It needs to be studied first. We hope that 2027 will be implemented. 2027 includes the grand design of all of them," explained Syafrin.

It is known, currently the JakParkir application can be downloaded on their respective cellphones. However, the data displayed is incomplete.

In the application, the parking booking feature can only be done on one of the roads, namely Jalan Sultan Hasanuddin, Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta.

In addition, the JakParkir application can also be used to pay parking rates on street which are equipped with an electronic parking terminal (TPE).
