3 Waves Of Tsunami Hits Russia's Severo-Kurilsk, Port Infrastructure Is Heavily Damaged

JAKARTA - Three tsunami waves have hit the port city of Severo-Kurilsk in Russia.

The final wave damaged port infrastructure and rocked several vessels moored to the strait.

The TASS news agency reported that the third wave of this tsunami was the strongest.

This tsunami disaster was the impact of an 8.7 magnitude (M) earthquake that hit eastern Russia on Wednesday morning.

After the earthquake appeared a tsunami early warning. In the Severo-Kurilsk area, the tsunami has flooded as a city.

Meanwhile, the residents of the port city fled on a hill until an related party stated that the situation was gradually recovering.
