Alibaba Introduces Quark: First AI Glasses Developed Independently

JAKARTA - Alibaba officially entered the wearable AI market by launching the AI Quark Glasses, the first smart glasses to be developed independently, at the 2025 World Artificial Intelligence Conference (WAIC).

These AI glasses are designed with LLM Qwen and Quark's multimodal AI capabilities, so they can be used as smart assistants that can be worn throughout the day, combining style and functionality in one wearable innovation.

Quark comes with light weight and an ergonomic shape, but is supported by various functions ranging from hands-free calling, music streaming, real-time language translation, and transcription meetings.

Alibaba also said that these glasses are designed to deliver smooth AI-based interactions, with long battery life and high visual quality to ensure a luxurious user experience.

One of the main highlights of these glasses is its deep integration with the Alibaba ecosystem. Users can access navigation features through an eye-to-eye display system from Amap, which is optimized for walking and cycling.

In addition, they can watch and make payments via Alipay, compare prices at Taobao while shopping, and receive travel notifications from Fliggy.

There are no further details regarding the complete specifications of these glasses, but the AI Quark glasses are scheduled to be officially released in China by the end of 2025.

This launch also marks an important step in Alibaba's vision to present contextual AI and blend with everyday life.
