East Russian Citizen Reportedly Injured By M 8.7 Earthquake, Minister Of Health Kamchatka: In Good Condition

JAKARTA - A number of people were reportedly injured after an 8.7 magnitude (M) earthquake rocked eastern Russia on Wednesday, July 30 morning.

Russian state news agency TASS reported several people were injured in the earthquake located on the Kamchatka Peninsula.

"Unfortunately, there were victims who were injured in the earthquake," said Minister of Health (Menkes) for the Kamchatka Region, Oleg Melnikov, Wednesday, July 30.

"All the injured are in good condition. No serious injuries have been reported at this time," he added.

This 8.7 Russian M earthquake has the potential to cause a tsunami. Japan, Taiwan, Hawaii, and the Aleut Islands in Alaska have issued early warnings of potential tsumani.
