Apart From Chelsea, Joao Felix Joins Ronaldo At Al Nassr

JAKARTA - Chelsea released Joao Felix's forward by selling him to Al Nassr. The Portugal national team player also joined his compatriot, Cristiano Ronaldo.

Felix was once named a talented young player. He is considered Ronaldo's successor and Atletico Madrid are willing to pay 113 million pounds when they bought it from Benfica in 2019.

Felix's transfer to Atletico made him the fourth most expensive player in the world. It also broke Atletico's record transfer.

Meanwhile, Benfica itself is the most expensive sale this Portuguese club has ever made. Not only that. At that time, Felix was still 19 and he became the second most expensive young player after Kylian Mbappe.

Securities are expensive, Felix actually had time to skyrocket in La Liga Spain. He even helped Atletico win La Liga in 2021.

Only several times he received an injury that left Felix out for several months. He also had a fight with coach Diego Simeone and was sentenced to train with the reserve team. Since then, Felix has started to be loaned to other clubs.

Atletico loaned it to Chelsea and then Barcelona. Only Barca refused to give Felix a permanent contract back to Atletico. Chelsea then bought it even though they later loaned Felix to AC Milan six months later.

Returning from Milan, Felix is on the Chelsea sell list. No European club is interested in the player who has played for Portugal 45 times until finally Al Nassr brought Felix.

Both Chelsea and Al Nassr gave the transfer details. However, Sky Sports revealed that Felix's purchases reached 43.7 million pounds or approximately 955 billion.

Al Nassr paid 26.2 million pounds with an additional 17.5 million pounds. This Saudi Arabian Pro League club awarded Felix a two-year contract.

"Let's win together ...Joao Felix is Nasraoui [derived from the word "Nasr" which means victory]," Al Nassr said in the official X account.

Felix's video was also shown and he said, "I'm here to give joy and win together."

In Al Nassr, the 25-year-old player joined his senior who is also the captain of the Portugal national team, Ronaldo. The team is handled by Portuguese and Jorge Jesus. The team will play the semifinals of the Saudi Super Cup against Al-Ittihad on August 19, 2025.
