Prabowo Asks MIND ID To Improve Productivity And Governance
JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto asked MIND ID to increase productivity and strengthen governance in mining management.
This was conveyed by the President Director of MIND ID Maroef Sjamsoeddin after attending a limited meeting with President Prabowo at the Presidential Palace complex, Jakarta, Tuesday, July 29.
"Earlier, we were only asked to increase MIND ID's productivity and all its holding members. We were also asked to have good governance," said Maroef as quoted by ANTARA.
He conveyed that improving governance is important considering that the mineral sector is one of the main natural resources that must be maintained as a state asset.
"We must maintain good governance, including this mineral, state assets, we must protect, that is the most important thing," he said.
President Prabowo held a limited meeting with a number of high-ranking MIND ID officials at the Presidential Palace, Jakarta, Tuesday. Apart from Maroef, the President Commissioner of MIND ID Fuad Bawazier was also present.
MIND ID itself recorded a profit in 2024 of IDR 40.2 trillion, an increase of 46 percent compared to 2023 which was recorded at IDR 27.5 trillion.
In the audited 2024 financial report, MIND ID posted revenue of IDR 145.2 trillion, growing 34.56 percent from the previous year.
The company's assets recorded an increase to IDR 292.1 trillion from IDR 259.2 trillion. The cost of revenue rose from IDR 90 trillion to IDR 124.6 trillion, following production expansion and downstreaming in all subsidiaries.
Maroef said the implementation of Good Mining Practice has also become the main motor for strengthening company performance. According to him, sustainability is not just compliance, but a long-term strategy.
"We are trying to ensure that the operation is in accordance with good mining governance, so that the added value of the downstream program can be felt by all parties, including social and environmental," said Maroef in mid-June.
