Father In Samarinda Kills 2 Children Of Kandung, Perpetrator Hurts Wife
Samarinda City Police, East Kalimantan, revealed the motive for the murder by a father with the initials WD (24) against two of his biological children who are still toddlers in Sungai Kunjang District last weekend.
"The motive is the suspect's burden of thought and hurt towards his wife due to economic problems," said Samarinda Police Chief Kombes Hendri Umar as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, July 29.
The criminal incident that killed MZ (4) and MA (2) took place at the perpetrator's residence on Jalan Rimbawan I, Karang Anyar Village, on Friday (25/7) evening.
According to Hendri, the suspect WD, who had not worked for several months, felt pressured financially. At its peak, his wife had expressed her intention to return to her parents' house and was about to leave their two children with the suspect.
"This triggers heartache and reckless actions of the perpetrators," said the Chief of Police.
Based on police investigations, the suspect WD first killed his youngest child with the initials MA. The perpetrator strangled the neck and smothered the victim's mouth and nose in the living room so that it did not move.
"After confirming the victim was lifeless, the perpetrator carried his body to bed. Then, he did the same thing to his eldest child, MZ, in the same location," said Hendri.
After carrying out the action, the suspect WD lay the bodies of his two children side by side on the mattress, then covered them with sarongs and sheets.
