Zulhas Targets 10,000 Red And White Kopdes Units To Operate In August 2025

JAKARTA - Coordinating Minister for Food Affairs Zulkifli Hasan targets as many as 10,000 units of the Red and White Village Cooperative (Kopdes) to operate in August 2025.

"And soon this August we will finish around 10,000 in August, 10,000 Kopdes have been operating, at least in August," he said after a coordination meeting at the Coordinating Ministry for Food, Jakarta, Tuesday, July 29.

Even so, the Head of the Red and White Kopdes Task Force believes that his realization will exceed this target. To achieve this target, he said his party would also carry out roadshows throughout Indonesia.

"But I'm sure it can be more, it could be more than (10,000 units). That's why we have scheduled another roadshow. Starting from the 1st in NTT, the 2nd in NTB, Java, and all of them," he explained.

On July 21 at the launch of the Red and White Kopdes on a strategic basis, Zulhas, his nickname, reported to President Prabowo Subianto, that 80,081 Red and White Village Cooperatives (Kopdes) had been formed.

Of the total, 108 units are ready to operate.

"Alhamdulillah, Mr. President, in less than two months, more than 80,081 Red and White Kopdes/kelurahan have been formed legally. And 108 of them are ready to operate," he said when delivering the report on the inauguration of the Red and White Kopdes, quoted from the Ministry of Food's YouTube, Monday, July 21.

Zulhas said that the existence of the Red and White Kopdes was President Prabowo Subianto's mandate regarding food self-sufficiency. At the same time to eradicate tengkulak to moneylenders.

"To cut the supply chain, tengkulak, empowerment of farmers, village economic actors with the principle of mutual cooperation," he said.
