Gold Ore Reserves Drop Slightly To 3.46 Billion Tons

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) through the Geological Agency reported that until December 2024 there was a slight decrease in gold ore reserves. The gold ore reserves in 2023 were recorded at 3.46 billion tons from the previous 3.47 billion tons in 2023.

Meanwhile, the results of the 2024 update for gold ore are a total promoter of ore resources, an increase of 1.7 billion tons and a total reserve decreased by 16.4 million tons, in the previous year.

"The total value of gold metal reserves has increased when compared to the total value of gold metal reserves in 2023 of 26 tons," the report said, quoted on Tuesday, July 29.

Thus, the total primary gold ore resource is 17.2 billion tons.

Meanwhile, the number of verified resource locations for gold promoters is 143 locations and the value of the verified primary gold ore resources and reserves is 12.9 billion tons (74.8 percent), reserves of 3.07 billion tons (88.7 percent) of total gold ore resources and reserves, mainly from PT Freeport Indonesia (PTFI) and PT Amman Mineral Nusa Tenggara data.

Meanwhile, the value of the verified primary gold metal reserves is 2,550 tons (74 percent) of the total primary gold reserves, mainly from PTFI and PT Amman Mineral Nusa Tenggara data.
