13-Year-Old Student Found In School Sewer Dies, Malaysian Public Asked To Be Patient Waiting For Investigation

JAKARTA - The police in Malaysia asked the people of the neighboring country to be patient waiting for an investigation conducted by the authorities regarding the findings of an unconscious student in a ditch at her school after being taken to the hospital (RS).

Sabah Police Commissioner, Jauteh Dikun, confirmed a thorough and transparent investigation into the incident.

"The Sabah police contingent will carry out a transparent and comprehensive investigation," said Dikun in Sabah, Monday, July 28, quoted from Bernama.

Dikun said the authorities had not released further details because they were waiting for a review of the victim's forensics.

The 13-year-old student with the initials ZQM was found unconscious in a sewer near her school and dormitory on Wednesday, July 16.

The victim was later declared dead at Queen Elizabeth I Hospital the next day at 11.00.

This case has attracted public attention in Malaysia. During the investigation of the incident, the police asked the Malaysian public to avoid baseless theories that could hinder investigations.
