Francesco Bagnaia Raises Hands To Chase Marc Marquez

JAKARTA Francesco Bagnaia has raised his hand to fight his teammate Marc Marquez in the hunt for the 2025 MotoGP title.

Ducati Lenovo Team's two drivers are currently 168 points apart on the standings board from 12 series that have been held. Marquez is in the top position with a collection of 381 points, while Bagnaia is in third place with 213 points.

Mathematically, Bagnaia's chances of becoming world champion are still open because there are 10 races left. However, Bagnaia gave up because she reflected on Marquez's impressive performance in the first half of the season.

"After 12 races, I realized that my goals were different. Now I have changed my approach a little because I know that fighting for victory is not mandatory or easy," Bagnaia said as quoted by Motosan.

Bagnaia's journey this season is much different when compared to last season when he hunted for the title against Jorge Martin, who at that time was still defending Prima Pramac Racing.

At that time, Martin finally came out as world champion with the Ducati satellite team. However, he got fierce competition against Bagnaia until the last series.

"Now I have to go through each series step by step. First I try to chase Alex Marquez and then see what I can do," Bagnaia said.

Currently, Bagnaia's point spacing with Alex Marquez who is in second place is only separated by 48 points. So, Bagnaia's chance to move up to second position in the near future is quite large.

The 2025 MotoGP race is in the middle of the season. Furthermore, the most prestigious motorcycle race will take place in Austria on August 15-17, 2025.
