Viral, Thousands Of Social Assistance Recipients In Jakarta Involved In Judol, DPRD: Withdraw Their Rights!

JAKARTA - Member of Commission A of the DKI Jakarta DPRD Kevin Wu assessed that the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government must act decisively against Jakarta residents who receive social assistance (bansos) who play online gambling (judol).

Because, in essence, social assistance is given to help Jakarta residents in need. Supposedly, this social assistance should not be misused, especially to play online gambling.

"This is an insensitive act. This attitude also injures the feelings of many people who now need social assistance to meet their various needs," Kevin told reporters, Tuesday, July 29.

Kevin supports the DKI Provincial Government if the DKI Provincial Government records who the recipients of aid were involved in the judol. Then, the right to receive social assistance to them was revoked.

"The judol actors who use social assistance funds must receive the appropriate consequences. Social assistance for people like that must be stopped," said Kevin.

Then, the Governor of DKI Jakarta, Pramono Anung, could again decide to distribute social assistance again if the judol player regretted his actions and no longer carried out these activities.

"Not only that, they must also promise not to repeat their actions. However, the former perpetrators must also be monitored continuously, in case they repeat their actions in the future," he explained.

On the other hand, the DKI Provincial Government must carry out careful supervision of social assistance recipients. "This is important to track how the social assistance is used by the recipients," he continued.

Previously, the Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Center (PPATK) revealed that many Jakarta residents received social assistance (bansos) who apparently also played online gambling.

Unmitigated, PPATK Head Ivan Yustiavandana revealed that online gambling transactions (judol) for social assistance recipients in Jakarta for one year reached Rp. 67 billion.

"There are 15,033 DKI Jakarta residents as recipients of social assistance who are included in the list of online gambling players for the period 2024. The total nominal number of judol transactions from this group is IDR 67 billion in 397 thousand transactions throughout 2024," Ivan explained to reporters.

In total, Ivan revealed that there were 602,419 DKI Jakarta residents from all cities and administrative districts identified as online gambling players in the 2024 period.

"The total nominal transactions of online gambling deposits reached Rp3.12 trillion in 17.5 million transactions," he said.
